  • Nada Naya Nemer

    FOUNDER

Born from my experience as a British-Palestinian, I decided to create Sawa as a way to document my research of Arab creativity and also explore the topic further through interviewing creatives and travelling.

  • Eden Bakker

    Illustrator

I created a series of illustrations for Sawa, taking inspiration from traditional Palestinian patterns and motifs, alongside contemporary Arab artwork and calligraphy. I was further inspired by the work of Odilon Redon. The background for the website was created using watercolour, gouache and coloured pencil.

  • Nayab Ahmed

    Calligrapher, Lettering Artist, Designer

I am currently in my second year at Central Saint Martins studying Graphic Communication Design. A lot of my practice revolves around combing the art of Arabic penmanship and contemporary Western approaches. For Sawa, I combined the Arabic and Latin letters for ‘S’ into one identity, showing how these two traditions can work in harmony to communicate togetherness.
